Frazar's late bogeys...
Feb 4, 11:05AM
Harrison Frazar returned to TPC Scottsdale this morning to complete his second round of the Waste Management Phoenix Open, only to bogey his 35th and 36th holes en route to a 4-under-par 31-36=67. The second round resumed at 7:45 a.m. local time, 15 minutes later than scheduled, but it that did not alter plans to start the third round at 10:30 a.m. Frazar stands alone in second place at 9-under 133. At his final two holes, he missed respective par putts measuring 4'3" and 3'8". At the time he signed his card, he led the field in fairways hit (22 of 28) and ranked second in putting (1.520).

Despite turnaround,...
Feb 3, 9:20PM
Stewart Cink withdrew 15 holes into his second round of the Waste Management Phoenix Open. After opening with a 12-over-par 83 that was too bad for words, he recovered extremely well today with three birdies and just one bogey. However, at an aggregate 10-over with only three holes remaining before the 36-hole cut, he wasn't going to make the cut.

Second round suspended...
Feb 3, 9:16PM
The second round of the Waste Management Phoenix Open was suspended for darkness at 6:07 p.m. local time. You can blame it on a pair of one-hour delays due to frost each of the last two mornings. Tonight's suspension stranded 34 golfers on TPC Scottsdale although four have since withdrawn. Of the remaining 30, Sean O'Hair currently sits at 1-over-par through 34 holes. He's one stroke outside the cut line and laying 1 in front of the green at the drivable par-4 17th hole. Assuming the conditions allow for it, he will resume his round at 7:30 a.m. local time on Saturday. It's the sixth consecutive year that the 36-hole cut has been pushed into the weekend. Once it falls, the third round will consist of threesomes off split tees.

Feb 3, 9:10PM
Chris Kirk withdrew 17 holes into his second round of the Waste Management Phoenix Open. He was 3-over-par through 35 holes and wasn't going to make the cut. As golf fans have witnessed for a long time, it's not unusual for a handful of guys to decline returning in the morning to complete a suspended round with no chance for a payday.

Feb 3, 9:07PM
Vijay Singh withdrew with one hole remaining in his second round of the Waste Management Phoenix Open. The Big Fijian was 4-over-par through 35 holes and wasn't going to make the cut anyway. He'll try again at next week's AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am where he's listed in the published field.

Feb 3, 9:02PM
Kyle Stanley carded a 5-under-par 34-32=66 in his second round of the Waste Management Phoenix Open, arriving at the midpoint in 7-under 135, seven strokes back of the clubhouse lead. Despite what happened last Sunday at Torrey Pines, an argument could be made that he's unflappable. He hit just 12 greens today but suffered just one bogey. Among his highlights were birdie conversions of 28'7" and 18'5" at the second and 18th holes, respectively. He also rolled in an eagle at the par-5 15th hole from 25'3". But his longest effort that found the bottom of the cup was a par save of 39'11" at the fourth.

Tommy Gainey

Gainey officially...
Feb 3, 8:53PM
Tommy Gainey withdrew after 13 holes into his second round of the Waste Management Phoenix Open due to an illness. He was laying 4 in a bunker on the par-4 fifth hole when he called it quits as play was suspended due to darkness. Gainey was an aggregate 11-over-par through 31 holes and wasn't going to make the cut. "I was coughing, sneezing, everything out there," he said. "You name it, I did it." Assuming he recovers, he'll try again at next week's AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am where he's listed in the published field. Gainey is off to a terrible start to 2012. In four events, he's gone MDF-MC-MC-WD.
