There is extensive help on every screen, especially the league
setup screens. Beside almost every field is an icon like this

that will display some help related to the specified item it is adjacent to. In addition,
most screens contain a larger version of the icon on the right side of the title bar at the top
(for example, on this page it would be at the right end of the grey bar above that says 'FAQ'),
which describes detailed instructions on how to use that screen.
Of course, if you still need help, please use our feedback form.
We support Firefox Version 2.0 and up, Internet Explorer Version 7.0 and up, Google Chrome, and Safari (3.1 and up).

Fantrax has a free, highly customizable Standard Commissioner (League Manager) product. The Premium version of our Commissioner
product costs $79.95 (less than $7 per team in a 12-team league), and gives you access to several exciting and innovative Premium
features. We also have several other current and upcoming games & contests that require an entry fee and will allow you to win
cash & prizes, including our Salary Cap contests and upcoming daily/weekly cash games. For more info on the games
we currently provide, go to the
View All
Games screen, click on the sport you're interested in (e.g. "NFL"), then click on the "More Info" link for
the game you're interested in.
Fantrax generates revenue from advertising and from pay-to-play games & contests. You can help by clicking on ads offering
products or services which may be of interest to you, telling all your friends and fantasy sports peers about us, and playing
our games & contests! Doing so will help us continue to be the best fantasy sports website by building high-quality games,
contests and features at the rapid pace you're accustomed to, as well as maintain a high level of customer service.
Click on the My Fantrax link on the right side of the top grey menu bar.
Please contact Fantrax Support via the
feedback form
and we will change this for you.
Note: Your User ID must be unique in our system, so you may want to give us a few options in order of preference.
Click on the
Lost User/Pass link in the Login section near the top right of the screen. If your password hasn't
been e-mailed to you within 15 minutes, feel free to contact us via our
feedback form and we will manually send you your password.
By default, all times across the website are in Eastern Standard Timezone (EST) or Eastern Daylight Timezone (EDT),
which are the same thing (it can also be displayed as "ET"). You can change the time zone by clicking on the My
Fantrax link near the top right of the screen.
The Fantrax Rewards screen will be available in the near future. You will be able to redeem your Fantrax Points
for various prizes, contest entries and cash.
Absolutely. Fantrax has been developed over several years by top-notch software programmers,
and has gone through a long BETA period to stabilize the product, calibrate the statistics calculations, and iron out the
glitches. As a result of all this, the system is extremely stable. Also, we back up all fantasy leagues nightly, so worst-case scenario,
we can restore your Premium Commissioner league from the night before or any previous date. And since we have a full set of
commissioner tools to backdate transactions, any transactions missed or in error (player claims, lineup changes, etc.) can be
executed retroactively by the commissioner. If you still have any concerns, feel free to contact us via our
feedback form.
To join a Published Commissioner league click on Join League (FREE!) --> Published on the right menu. You will then be taken
to a screen with a list of published Commissioner leagues with basic information on each league. Click on the league name to
view the League Rules Summary page for that league. All leagues will be displayed in order of their draft date, with the
nearest one at the top. To join a league, simply click on the Join link for the league you want
to join. If the league is private, you will need the League ID and Password in order to join, which are sometimes displayed in
the description of the league. If not, then you can e-mail the Commissioner in order to request that information, by clicking
on the Commissioner's name.
To join a Private Commissioner league click on Join League (FREE!) --> Private on the right menu. You will need the
League ID and League Password, which you can obtain from the Commissioner of that league. After entering that
information, as well as your team name and abbreviation, click the Submit button, and you will be joined
to that league. You can also join a Private league via e-mail invitation, which the Commissioner must send. In this case,
the League ID and League Password are not needed.
The menu on the right hand side of the screen has a Create Premium League option, which lets you create a Premium Commissioner
league in the sport of your choosing, followed by the start of the League Setup process. There is also a Create League (FREE!)
option, which is the same as the other option except a Standard (free) Commissioner league is created instead. However, you can
at any time upgrade that league to a Premium one and thus get full access to all premium features.
Private Commissioner leagues allow the Commissioner to have full access to change any league setting or use any other Commissioner
function for the entire season. Users can join private leagues either by entering the League ID and Password (given to them by the
Commissioner), or by accepting an invitation by the Commissioner.
For instructions on how to join a private Commissioner league, please refer to the question "How do I join a Commissioner league?"
in the FAQ.
In a public Commissioner league, the Commissioner initially has almost full access to changing league settings and other Commissioner
functions. However, once a team has joined that league, the Commissioner loses all access to changing league settings and most other
Commissioner privileges. If the Commissioner wishes to change any league rule after this point, there must be a unanimous vote in favour
of this from all active league members in the league's message forums. If this does happen, the Commissioner may notify us of this via our
feedback form, and we will make the change.
For instructions on how to join a public Commissioner league, please refer to the question "How do I join a Commissioner league?" in the FAQ.
When a Commissioner league is published by the Commissioner, it then appears in the Published Leagues screen, which can
be accessed by clicking on View All Games, then on Join a Published League for the sport you're interested in.
Any Fantrax user can access that screen, view the rules for any league listed on that screen, and join one of those leagues,
provided that the league's draft has not begun and is not full. If the league is private, one must have the League ID and League
Password in order to join it. Published leagues can be unpublished by the Commissioner at any time.
Just under the main Fantrax logo, at the left side of the blue menu containing all the sports, is a MY LEAGUES menu. Hovering
your mouse over that will reveal all the current leagues you have created and/or have a team in. To find all leagues you've ever been
a member of (unless the Commissioner deleted them), click on the MY LEAGUES link, or after hovering your mouse over it, click
on League History.
Absolutely. While we do not offer prizes in our Commissioner leagues, we do offer Salary Cap contests and Classic Draft
leagues (for NFL, MLB, NHL and NBA and more to come) where many great cash prizes can be won and with excellent odds of
winning. We will also soon be releasing our daily and weekly money games. You can find all of the games & contests we
currently offer by going to our
View All Games screen.
There are too many reasons to list in this answer. However, below are a few of them:
1) The most customizable Commissioner/League Manager product for all sports (MLB, NFL, NHL, NBA, NCAAB, NCAAF, PGA,
NASCAR).
2) Intuitive and user-friendly interface.
3) Fast and friendly customer support. Don't like something you see? Want a new feature implemented? Please contact us
via our
feedback form. We listen to you!
4) New features and upgrades are constantly being implemented, largely based on user demand. We don't rest on our laurels!
See our
New Features page for a running
list of new features being implemented.
5) There is no cost whatsoever to join or create as many Standard Commissioner leagues (for any sport) as you
like. Premium Commissioner leagues incur a fee of $79.95 per league (less than $7 per team in a 12-team league),
which gives you access to many exciting and innovative premium features that are not available anywhere else. For
more info on our Commissioner leagues, click
here.
6) We have several games & contests where you can win many large cash prizes (many more to come soon), and we
pride ourselves on delivering extremely high payouts and odds of winning.
Please don't hesitate to contact us if you have any questions, concerns or suggestions.
Please contact us via our

someone will respond to you promptly. We are always looking to add more quality writers to the team, for any sport, even
if you're inexperienced. This applies to all types of content, including articles/columns and player news updates.
Not yet, but an online tutorial will be available later this year. However, the League Setup screens have help popups
(indicated by green ? icons) for every option, as do most of the league-play screens. You may also find many answers to
your questions in this FAQ. If you have any questions that haven't been addressed in the help or FAQ, feel free to contact
us via our
feedback form and you will receive a
prompt reply.

We have multiple sources, depending on the sport, however our primary stat provider at this time is Stats Inc.
Our primary player news provider at this time is Rotoworld.com.
It's best to use at least 1024 x 768. From the desktop, right-click and select Properties. Then select Settings and change the

to take effect.
A Commissioner league (also known as a League Manager) is a league where you can create and customize the rules to your
own preferences. Many fantasy sports websites have a Commissioner/League Manager product, however Fantrax's
offers the most customizability, for all sports (NFL, MLB, NHL, NBA, NCAAF, NCAAB, NASCAR, PGA, the 5 Major European Soccer
leagues and MLS). If you're bringing your league over from another site, you should be able to set your league up exactly
how you had it previously, if that's your intention. We offer Standard (free) and Premium Commissioner leagues, which you can
find more info on
here.
Standard Commissioner leagues are free, as opposed to Premium Commissioner leagues, which offer more customization
options and features. If you have a Standard Commissioner league and you enable any of the premium features, then
the league automatically becomes Premium, but can easily be downgraded to a Standard league again. You can go
here for more info on our
Standard and Premium Commissioner leagues.
A Premium Commissioner league is an enhanced version of our Standard (free) Commissioner product, and is available for all sports that
we offer (NFL, MLB, NHL, NBA, NCAAF, NCAAB, NASCAR, PGA, the 5 Major European Soccer leagues and MLS). Premium leagues cost
$79.95 per league (less than $7 per team in a 12-team league), but are free at this time for all PGA and Soccer leagues. They have
several features that standard leagues do not. None of these features are available for free anywhere else, and many of them
are unique to Fantrax For a list of these exciting and innovative features, as well as some
of our upcoming features, click
here.
If your Commissioner league has at least 1 premium feature enabled, it is considered a premium league. All Premium Commissioner leagues
come with a free trial up until 3 weeks after the season begins. For example, the 2013 NFL season begins on September 4, 2013, so payment
is not required until September 25, 2013. If payment has not been received by this time, the league will become inaccessible until it is either fully
paid for, or until the Commissioner converts it to a standard league. To do that, the Commissioner must first disable all premium features
within the League Setup process that were previously enabled by him/her, and then go to
Other --> Downgrade to Standard.
If you are the Commissioner of your league, simply go to the appropriate League Setup screens and disable all premium features that
your league is currently using (i.e. that you previously enabled), then go to Other --> Downgrade to Standard.
No, we do not offer sample Commissioner leagues at this time. However, it is extremely quick and easy to test a league
out yourself. Simply create a league via the Create League menu item on the right side of the screen (it's free
to do so), and choose one of the Express setup options, if you don't want to take the time going through the League Setup
screens (you can always do so at a later time).
If you want to add fantasy teams (without owners, which can be added later) and quickly populate them with players,
follow these steps:
1) Go to Commissioner --> League Setup --> Teams, and add however many teams you wish.
2) Go to Commissioner --> League Setup --> Draft, and change the draft type to Automated.
3) Go to Commissioner --> All Options --> Execute Auto Draft.
Your draft will then be completed, and all team rosters will be fully populated with players, according to the league's
default roster restrictions (which can be changed in Commissioner --> League Setup --> Rosters). You can then test
your league however you wish (execute transactions, view teams, free agents, etc.). If the season has already begun,
then stats and scores will automatically accumulate retroactive to the start of the season.
1) Click on the
View All Games link on the right side of the screen.
2) Click on the
More Info link for whichever game you're interested in.
3) Click on the
Full Rules or
Rules Summary link near the top right of that page.
If you still can't find what you're looking for, feel free to contact Fantrax Support via our
Feedback Form.
Go to Commissioner --> All Options --> Player Position Eligibility. In that screen you will be able to choose any
player in your league and select which positions you want that player to be eligible at. Any position(s) selected will override
that player's current eligible position(s), and will be effective from the start of your season (Period #1).
We don't have a Team Kicking position at this time, but there are a couple of workarounds which can accomplish what
you're looking for:
1) Use the Special Teams (or Defense/Special Teams) position instead of Team Kicking, and add the scoring categories to
Special Teams that you would have added to Team Kicking. However, this will only work if you intended on using scoring
categories for your Team Kicking position that only Kickers would accumulate. For example: Field Goals Made, Extra Points
Made, etc., but NOT Points.
2) Allow for an extra Kicker position on team rosters, so that whenever teams draft/claim a Kicker, they must also
draft/claim the backup Kicker from the same NFL team. This of course would only work for Private leagues, as you
(the Commissioner) must manually administer that all fantasy teams are abiding by this rule. You may also want to enforce
other rules as well, to keep this workaround more in line with having a Team Kicking position. For example, ensuring
that both Kickers from the same NFL team always have the same status (Active, Reserve, etc.) on their fantasy team's
roster.
We don't have a Team Quarterback position at this time, but there are a couple of workarounds which can accomplish what
you're looking for:
1) Use the Team Offense position instead of Team Quarterback, and add the scoring categories to Team Offense that you would
have added to Team Quarterback. However, this will only work if you intended on using scoring categories for your Team
Quarterback position that only QB's would accumulate. For example: Passing Yards, Passing TD, Completions, QB Rating, etc.,
but NOT Rushing Yards, Rushing TD, Fumbles, etc.
2) Allow for an extra Individual Quarterback position on team rosters, so that whenever teams draft/claim a QB, they
must also draft/claim the backup QB from the same NFL team. This of course would only work for Private leagues, as you
(the Commissioner) must manually administer that all fantasy teams are abiding by this rule. You may also want to enforce
other rules as well, to keep this workaround more in line with having a Team Quarterback position. For example, ensuring
that both QB's from the same NFL team always have the same status (Active, Reserve, etc.) on their fantasy team's roster.
Those players will remain in those positions until they are removed from there for all applicable Lineup Periods, and the
roster for those periods will be illegal until the necessary corrections are made. For example, if you removed 2B from
your league's roster setup, then all players on fantasy teams who were set to 2B will remain in that slot until they are
removed from there (if they are eligible at other positions), and the rosters for those periods will be illegal until
that's done.
The Min/Max GP restrictions in "League Setup --> Rosters" refer to the position that you set your player to on the
Team Roster screen, regardless of what position that player plays on his MLB team. For example, if you set Roy
Halladay to RP (assuming he's eligible at RP), and he starts a game, that game played will count towards the GP
for RP, not SP.
The "Games Started" and "Relief Appearances" team scoring category min/max restrictions in "League Setup --> Scoring --> Min-Max"
refer to the actual stat accumulated, regardless of the position the players are set to on the Team Roster screen. Using the previous
example, that game will count towards the "Games Started" scoring category, not "Relief Appearances".
* The min/max GP restrictions in the Rosters league setup screen and the team min/max restrictions in the Min-Max
league setup screen both apply to the entire season for non-Head-to-Head leagues, and to each Scoring Period for Head-to-Head
leagues.
That player will remain in that position until he is removed from there for all applicable Lineup Periods, and the roster for
those periods will be illegal until the necessary corrections are made. For example, if you removed 2B eligibility from a
player who was set to 2B on a team for period #3, that player will remain at 2B, and that roster will be illegal for that
period until that player is moved to a different position (if he is eligible at another position).
Custom roster positions will be available in the future, however if the position you need is a flex position consisting of
positions we already have available, please send us a request via our
feedback form, and we should be able to add that position to our system.
Yes, go to Commissioner --> League Setup --> Rosters and check the box next to "Allow players on a bye week to be
moved to Injured Reserve".
In Duplicate Player leagues, by default, nobody can view other teams' rosters for periods where the roster deadline has
not been reached yet. This is to prevent cheating, since teams would be able to duplicate other teams' rosters.
This setting can be changed to allow either yourself (the Commissioner) or any team to be able to view any other team's
roster, for ANY period, by adjusting the Before the roster deadline, rosters are viewable to setting in Commissioner
--> League Setup --> Rosters --> Preferences.
You can create the custom fields in Commissioner --> League Setup --> Rosters --> Preferences. You can then populate
those fields with any text in the Team Roster screen, after turning Commissioner Mode on (by clicking the yellow "OFF"
link).
Team Owners
When your roster for the selected Lineup Period violates any of the roster requirements for your league (see the Rosters
section in Other --> League Rules Summary), it is considered illegal, and your team will not accumulate any stats or
points for that entire period. The Team Roster screen will display all illegal roster messages (i.e. why exactly your roster
is illegal, for example that you've exceeded the maximum of 6 Active Forwards) that apply to the selected Lineup Period.
* If your league's Illegal Roster Enforcement Rule is set to Always, your team can never have an illegal roster, unless
done so by your league's Commissioner in Commissioner Mode.
When Full Fantasy Team is selected in the Stats dropdown, all players who have ever accumulated
stats/points while Active on your team will appear on the Team Roster screen. The players that show "Not On
Team" are not on your team anymore, for the selected Lineup Period. If you select Fantasy Team those
players will be hidden, however their stats/points will still be included in your team totals.
Go to the Team Roster screen and select the real sport name (NFL, MLB, etc.) from the Stats dropdown. Note
that players on Reserve will never accumulate any stats or points for your team - this simply shows you what they would have gotten
had they been Active on your team.
A player will appear twice on the Team Roster screen if he is eligible at positions in 2 different position
groups (e.g. Hitting and Pitching). This is done in order to display any potential stats/points that player
may accumulate in either group.
* That player will still only count as 1 player towards your roster restrictions, and will only accumulate
stats/points for the position(s) that he has been set to Active in. For example, if your pitcher gained eligibility
and played as a hitter, he will still have only accumulated pitching stats for your team, if you never set him to a
hitting position on your team.
Your league has been set to allow "Duplicate Players", either across your entire league or within each division (see the League
Rules Summary page). For more information on this type of league, please refer to the What is a Duplicate Player league?
question.
Your league's roster restrictions are configured to not use Reserve players (see: Other --> League Rules Summary).
Contact your league's Commissioner to make the necessary changes.
Note: For public leagues, the Commissioner can not make changes to your league's rules after the draft has been completed.
This is because your league is a Duplicate Player league (i.e. any player can be owned by multiple teams),
teams), thus you are not allowed to view other teams' rosters until their lineups are locked. This is to prevent
team owners from duplicating each others' rosters.
Also, if the draft is not yet completed, no rosters for any periods will be viewable, even if the season has
started already. If this is the case, you can contact the Commissioner to Finish the draft.
Only hitters who are eligible at the DH position can be set to DH. However, ANY hitter can be set to the Utility
(UT) position.
Because the deadline for the upcoming Lineup Period has already passed, and the first changeable Lineup Period is always
displayed by default. For example, if your league uses Weekly Lineup Periods every Monday with the weekly deadline
set for Saturday 12:00pm, and the date is Saturday 6:00pm, the deadline for the upcoming Lineup Period (beginning in 2
days) will have passed (6 hours ago). Therefore, changes can not be made to that Lineup Period anymore, and the first
Lineup Period that changes can be made to is the one after that, beginning in 1 week and 2 days.
Probable opposing starting pitchers can be viewed when hovering your mouse over the opponent in the Team Roster and
Players screens. This applies to the Schedule - Period and Schedule - Full tabs, as well as the
Stats and Fantasy Points tabs for leagues with daily Lineup Periods.
Yes, go to Team --> Team Roster Chart. In the future, we will add another screen that will show all team rosters, similar to
the current Team Roster screen.
Click on the Schedule tab near the top of the Team Roster page. The games where your pitchers are scheduled to play
will be highlighted in green. Also if your league uses daily Lineup Periods, the Opp column in the Stats (default) and
Fantasy Points views will show scheduled starts for the selected day/period.
This feature is coming soon.
Yes, if your league is configured to allow that. In the League Rules Summary page under the Rosters section, look for the
field Suspended players may be moved to Injured Reserve.
A player is determined to be injured (indicated by a red flag next to that player's name) by our data provider(s) when he has an
injury of any type, whether he's on his professional team's official injury list (also known as Injured Reserve, Disabled List, etc.,
depending on the sport) or not (e.g. in baseball, a player can have a "day-to-day" injury). However, there is a league setting
available to your Commissioner that will allow only players who are officially injured (e.g. not "day-to-day") to be eligible
for Injured Reserve status, which is set on the Team Roster screen. Therefore, it is possible that a player who has an injury (and a
red flag next to his name) is not eligible to be moved to Injured Reserve status. Also, your league must of course allow Injured
Reserve players to be used. All of these settings can be found in Other --> League Rules Summary. Here is a description of the
official injury lists for all sports that we currently receive injury data for:
MLB Baseball: Players who are on the Disabled List must miss a minimum of 15 games (if they're on the 15-Day DL) or 60 games
(if they're on the 60-day DL).
NFL Football: Players who are on the NFL Injured Reserve list are not allowed to play on their NFL team for the remainder of
the season. Players on the NFL PUP List must miss a minimum of their team's first 6 games.
NHL Hockey: Players who are on the NFL Injured Reserve list are not allowed to play on their NHL team for a minimum of 7 days.
NBA Basketball: Players who are on the NBA Inactive List are not allowed to play on their NBA team for a minimum of 1 game.
This is likely because there is an option (which varies slightly depending on which sport your league is in) that your
league does not have enabled. You can find whether or not this is true under the
Rosters section in the
League
Rules Summary screen, which reads as one of the following:
MLB Baseball: Only players on the official MLB Disabled List may be moved to Injured Reserve status
NFL Football: Only players on the official NFL Injured List or PUP List may be moved to Injured Reserve status
NHL Hockey: Only players on the official NHL Injured Reserve List may be moved to Injured Reserve status
NBA Basketball: Only players on the official NBA Injured List may be moved to Injured Reserve status
If the above option that applies to your league is NOT enabled, and you still can't move a player with a red flag to
Injured Reserve status, then please contact us via our
feedback form. Keep in mind that just because a player is injured, that does not mean
he is necessarily on his sport's official injured list, which requires a minimum amount of time or games played
that the player must miss for his team.
Once a player is set to Minors status, he can remain there indefinitely. However, once that player is moved out of
Minors status, he cannot be put back there unless he is qualified to do so (indicated with a yellow flag beside
his name) according to your league's rules.
This rule is used to determine when illegal rosters are allowed, if at all. An illegal roster is when a team's roster
violates any of your league's roster restrictions for a particular Lineup Period, and thus will not accumulate any
stats or points for that entire period. The Team Roster screen will display all illegal roster messages (i.e. why
exactly your roster is illegal, for example "Exceeding the maximum of 6 Active forwards") that apply to the selected
Lineup Period.
Always: Teams will be restricted from executing any type of transaction (lineup change, claim/drop or trade)
that would violate any of the roster restrictions configured on this screen. This only applies to when the transaction
is being processed/executed, not submitted (i.e. for certain types of claims and trades). For example, if a team
submits a claim (without a drop) for a Forward (to go to Active status on his team) on Monday, with claims/bids set
to process on Wednesday 12pm, and that team is already at the maximum # of Active Forwards allowed, that claim would
be denied on Wednesday at 12pm, but not when the claim was submitted on Monday. This gives the team time to adjust
his roster accordingly (in this case, remove an Active Forward) so that the claim will successfully execute when it
is set to process.
Total Max Players: Teams will be restricted from executing any type of transaction (lineup change, claim/drop
or trade) that would result in exceeding the maximum # of players allowed for the entire team (not per position). Transactions that result in violating
any of the other roster restrictions on this screen will be allowed, but will cause the team's roster to be illegal
and thus accumulate no stats or points for the applicable Lineup Period(s). This only applies to when the transaction
is being processed/executed, not submitted (i.e. for certain types of claims and trades). For example, if a team who
is already at that maximum submits a claim (without a drop) for another player on Monday, with
claims set to process on Wednesday 12pm, that claim would be denied on Wednesday at 12pm, but not when the claim was
submitted on Monday. This gives the team time to adjust his roster accordingly (i.e. drop a player) so that the claim
will successfully execute when it is set to process.
Never: Teams will never be restricted from executing any type of transaction (lineup change, claim/drop or
trade) due to violating any roster restriction. Transactions that result in violating any of the roster restrictions
configured on this screen will cause the team's roster to be illegal and thus accumulate no stats or points for the
applicable Lineup Period(s).
* If a player who is in Minors status becomes ineligible for Minors status (based on the rules configured on
this screen), it will NOT create an illegal roster. The Commissioner can however force the team's roster to be
illegal for the appropriate periods via Commissioner --> All Options --> Force Legal/Illegal Roster.
** Violating any of the Min/Max GP requirements (if applicable) will not cause an illegal roster.
*** Teams will receive a warning if their pending claim/drop or trade is set to result in an illegal roster, at the
time the claim/drop or trade is submitted, and in the Pending Transactions screen.
This is likely because the deadline to make lineup changes has passed for the period you have selected (see Other -->
League Rules Summary), or you are viewing another team and are not in Commissioner Mode. If this is not the case, feel
free to contact us via our
feedback form.
Once a player is set to Injured Reserve status, he can remain there indefinitely, regardless of whether or not that player is
injured anymore. However once a player is moved out of Injured Reserve status, he cannot be moved back to Injured Reserve if
he is not injured anymore.
There are several criteria that your league's Commissioner can configure to determine when a player is eligible
to be moved to Minors status in the Team Roster screen. This criteria, which can be found in the Rosters section
in the League Rules Summary screen, includes:
1) Whether or not the player is in the minor leagues, inactive or a free agent (in his sport, not in your fantasy
league). A yellow flag will appear next to a player's name if he belongs to any of the above 3 statuses.
2) The player's age.
3) The player's total number of career games played.
* The Commissioner also has the option to allow ANY player in your league to be eligible for Minors status, regardless of their
age, etc. This option is generally used in Private leagues with specialized rules (that we don't support) to
determine a player's eligibility for Minors status.
** The Commissioner can use Commissioner Mode to set ANY player to Minors status in the Team Roster screen, regardless
of your league's eligibility rules for Minors status.
This feature is coming soon. For now, the same lineup/roster must be used for all matchups a team has in a given scoring period.
This option is coming soon. In the meantime, there is a workaround for this:
1) Go to the Players screen.
2) Select your team name from the Status/Team dropdown box.
3) Select "2009 Regular Season" (or whichever timeframe you wish to view) from the Season dropdown box.
While a player is Active (also known as a "Starter") on your team, he will accumulate stats/points for your team,
provided that you don't have an illegal roster and certain roster restrictions (configured by your league's Commissioner)
are not violated.
While a player is on Reserve (also known as "On the Bench") on your team, he will not accumulate stats/points for your
team.
Yes, but your league's Commissioner must have this option enabled.
In Duplicate Player leagues, by default, nobody can view other teams' rosters for periods where the roster deadline has
not been reached yet. This is to prevent cheating, since teams would be able to duplicate other teams' rosters.
This setting can be changed by your Commissioner to allow either himself or any team to be able to view any other team's
roster, for ANY period.
Yes, you can do this by going to Other --> All Options --> Copy my Roster. Note that the league you're copying the roster
to must be a "duplicate player" league.
We do not consider players as being in the minors (and thus having the yellow flag next to their name)when they
were sent down to the minors strictly due to a rehab assignment because of an injury.
The formula we use applies to all stats for all sports. For example, using IP in an MLB league: (# of MLB games in a
season) / (# of MLB games played so far) * (IP to date). So for example, if there were 1000 total games in a season, and
500 have been played so far, and your team has accumulated 300 IP, then the pace would be 600 IP (1000 / 500 * 300).
This feature is used to force team owners to move players out of the Injured Reserve slot, once they become healthy after
the alotted timeframe (# of periods) selected by the Commissioner. Here are the 3 consequences that the Commissioner can
choose from for when a player isn't moved out of the IR slot in time:
1) Make Roster Illegal: The roster will become illegal until that player is moved out of the IR slot.
2) Automatically Drop Player: That player will be dropped from the team into the available player pool.
3) Lock Transactions: That team will not be able to execute any transactions until that player is dropped or moved
out of the IR slot.
* At this time this feature does not support suspended players in the IR slot.
** This rule also applies to NFL and NCAA Football leagues that allow players on Bye weeks to be moved to Injured Reserve
status.
*** If your league's Prevent Illegal Rosters rule is set to "Always", and you've selected the Automatically Drop
Player option, then that player will not be dropped if that drop would result in an illegal roster.
Your league has the "Exceeding max reserves will make roster illegal" option disabled (see the League Rules
Summary page). The Commissioner of your league can enable that option.
No, at this time min and max requirements (for GP or any other scoring category) apply to each Scoring Period for
Head-to-Head leagues. In the future, we will implement a "per-season" option for Head-to-Head leagues (this is already
available for any other type of league).
No, you dont need to do anything. Any changes to your league's scoring system will take effect immediately, and all scores and
stats will be updated retroactively from the beginning of the season.
Custom scoring categories will be available in the future, however you may request this scoring category via our
feedback form and we will let you know if we
can add it to our system (most of the time, we can).
Fractions aren't allowed, however decimals are. You simply need to assign the appropriate decimal value(s), for
example, using the following scoring range:
From 1 to 100, assign .1 point(s) for every 1 RuYd.
You would get 3.5 points for 35 Rushing Yards. The following range will NOT allow for decimal points:
From 1 to 100, assign 1 point(s) for every 10 Rushing Yards.
You would get 3 points for 35 Rushing Yards.
Use the Scoring Adjustment feature which you can find in the Commissioner Options screen. For
Head-to-Head leagues, you can adjust a team's score for any period/week. For Points-Based and Rotisserie leagues, the
scoring adjustment applies to the whole season.
This is because we do not currently receive any of that data from our stat provider, however we are working on alternative solutions
and are hoping to have those stats available for the 2013 NCAA Football season.
Not at this time. However, we do have the "Stuffs" category available (for defenders and offensive players), which is any
Rushing play that loses yardage. If there are two defenders on the play, they split the stuff (.5 for each player).
Yes. If you're using a Points-based scoring system (whether it's Head-to-Head or not), simply select the Pitching
group and choose the categories you want to track for pitchers in Commissioner --> League Setup --> Scoring. If
you're using a Rotisserie scoring system (whether it's Head-to-Head or not), go to Commissioner --> League Setup -->
Scoring --> Preferences, and enable the Players will always accumulate stats in all scoring category groups
option. Doing so will allow pitchers to accumulate stats in all categories that your league is using.
You are trying to add a pre-configured set of scoring categories where some of those scoring categories belong to
positions that you haven't added in the Rosters league setup page. For example, in an NFL league, you would receive
this message if the pre-set configuration you select includes Field Goals but you don't have a Kicker position
configured. You must either go back to the Rosters league setup page to add the appropriate position(s) and then
return here and select this setting again, or you will have to manually add each scoring category on this screen
to create your league's scoring system.
Yes, go to Commissioner --> League Setup --> Scoring --> Preferences and enable the Score Flex positions by the
players' actual positions option. This is only applicable if your league uses Flex positions (e.g. RB/WR/TE) and
scoring for at least one of the sub-positions within the Flex position (e.g. WR) has been overridden. If there is no
overridden scoring for the player's default position(s) that matches at least one of the Flex sub-positions, the default
scoring will be used. If scoring is overridden for the actual Flex position, that scoring will always be used, even if
this option is enabled.
Team Owners
Rotisserie leagues rank fantasy teams from first to last in each of several statistical categories that the
Commissioner of the league has chosen to track. A score is awarded to each team for each of these categories,
based on where the team ranks within each category. Fantasy teams are comprised of real-life players, and the
statistics that those players accumulate are based on their real-life performances throughout the season.
For example, in a 10-team league, the team with the most Goals would receive 10 points for that category. The team
with the second most goals would receive 9 points, and so on. When 2 or more teams are tied in a particular
category, the score to be awarded for each place is averaged out by the number of teams tied. So if 3 teams were
tied for second place, each team would receive 8 points ([9 + 8 + 7] / 3) for the Goals category.
Therefore, the maximum # of points a team can have in a Rotisserie league is the number of teams in a league
multiplied by the # of scoring categories in a league. So in a 10-team league, the maximum would be 100 points and
the minimum would be 10 points. The nature of Rotisserie leagues will cause teams to gain and lose points throughout
the season, depending on where they rank relative to the other teams in each category at any given time.
The above assumes that each scoring category is assigned a weight factor of 1, which is the default. The weight is
simply multiplied by the team's original score to determine its true score. For example, if Goals was assigned a
weight of 2, and a team was in 2nd place in Goals in a 10-team league, that team would receive 18 points for that
scoring category (9 (for being in 2nd place) x 2).
Teams will accumulate stats only from their Active players throughout the season. All stats are calculated per
player and are cumulative from the beginning to the end of the season, as opposed to being calculated per period,
per game, or per play. On Fantrax, stats are accumulated and calculated in real-time, as opposed to other sites that
do this on a nightly-basis or every morning.
* There are certain league rules that will cause teams or certain players to stop accumulating
stats. Please refer to the FAQ question Why is my team or certain players on my team not accumulating any stats or
points? for more information.
In points-based leagues, the Commissioner determines which statistical categories his/her league uses, and then
assigns a point value or set of point-ranges for each of those categories. Fantasy teams are comprised of real-life
players, and those teams accumulate points based on the real-life performances of those players. The teams are
ranked based on how many fantasy points they accumulate throughout the season.
For example, the Commissioner may decide that a Goal is worth 2 points, and an assist is worth 1 point. Therefore,
if a player scores 3 Goals and 1 Assist in a particular game, he will accumulate 7 fantasy points for his fantasy
team: 3 Goals * 2 + 1 Assist * 1 = 7.
As alluded to above, some leagues' scoring systems use a set of point-ranges to determine the value of a statistical
category, which is a more advanced method than simply assigning a single number of points. For example:
If a player accumualtes 1-3 Shots in a game, he will get 2 points for each shot.
If a player accumualtes 4-6 Shots in a game, he will get 3 points for each shot.
If a player accumualtes 7-9 Shots in a game, he will get 4 points for each shot.
With the above setup, if a player accumulates 8 Shots in a game, he will receive 23 fantasy points for his fantasy
team: 6 points for the first range (3 Shots * 2), plus 9 points for the second range (3 Shots * 3), plus 8 points
for the third range (2 Shots * 4).
Unlike traditional Rotisserie and Points-Based scoring systems, Head-to-Head scoring systems pit 2 fantasy teams
against each other every week (on Fantrax this is referred to as a Scoring Period, and can also be daily, semi-weekly,
etc., depending on the league configuration). The teams accumulate statistics based on their players' real-life
performances in statistical categories determined by the Commissioner of the league. Teams will generally play
every other team an even number of times throughout the course of the season, if mathematically possible
(depending on the length of the season and the number of teams). Each team is ranked amongst all other teams in
the league, with wins, losses and sometimes ties, based on an accumulation of how they fared in each of their
head-to-head matchups. There are 3 types of head-to-head scoring systems:
Rotisserie/Category Based - Multiple Wins: Fantasy teams compete against each other 1-on-1 and receive a
Win, Loss or Tie for each scoring category in each Scoring Period. For example at the end of a Scoring Period, in
a league that tracks Goals and Assists, Team A has 10 Goals and 12 Assists, and Team B has 8 Goals and 15 Assists.
Since Team A wins the Goals category and loses the Assists category, and conversely Team B Wins the Assists category
and losses the Goals category, each team ends up with a 1-1-0 (wins-losses-ties) record for that scoring period.
Weights can also be assigned to each scoring category, and the value of the weight equals the number of wins one receives
for winning that category. For example, if a weight of 2 is assigned to Goals and 1 to Assists, then using the above
example, Team A's record would be 2-1-0 and Team B's record would be 1-2-0, since the Goals category was worth 2 wins.
Rotisserie/Category Based - Single Win: Fantasy teams compete against each other 1-on-1 and receive a
Win, Loss or Tie each Scoring Period, depending on which team leads in more scoring categories. For example at
the end of a Scoring Period, in a league that tracks Goals, Assists and Penalties, Team A has 10 Goals and Team
B has 8 Goals, Team A has 12 Assists and Team B has 15 Assists, Team A has 10 Penalties and Team B has 6 Penalties
(where Penalties is a positive stat). Since Team A wins 1 category (Goals) and Team B wins 2 categories (Assists and
Penalties), Team B gets the Win for that Scoring Period, while Team A gets the loss.
Weights can also be assigned to each scoring category. For example, if a weight of 3 is assigned to Goals (while keeping
Assists and Penalties at a weight of 1), that makes Goals worth 3 times as much as the other categories. Therefore,
using the above example, Team A would get the win in that matchup.
Most points is a win: Fantasy teams compete against each other 1-on-1 and receive a Win, Loss or Tie each
Scoring Period, depending on who has the most fantasy points. All stats and fantasy points are reset back to 0 at the
beginning of each Scoring Period. For example, at the end of a Scoring Period, in a league that tracks Goals and Assists
where Goals are worth 2 points and Assists are worth 1 point, Team A has 10 Goals and 12 Assists, and Team B has 8 Goals
and 15 Assists. Since Team A ends up with more points (10 Goals * 2 + 12 Assists * 1 = 32 points) than Team B (8 Goals * 2 +
15 Assists * 1 = 31 points), Team A gets the win for that Scoring Period, while Team B gets the loss. When the next Scoring
Period begins, Team A and Team B both start off with 0 points again. At the end of the season, the team with the best
record (wins-losses-ties) is the winner.
• Head-to-head leagues often use a "playoff" system, which generally spans the last few weeks of the regular season
of the sport the league is in. The teams that qualify and the seeding of those teams are based on their win-loss-tie
records at the end of the season. Matchups are organized using a bracket system, with the winners of each matchup advancing to
the next playoff round and the losers being eliminated, until a winner is determined.
Hover your mouse over the stat abbreviation on any screen, or go to

scoring category is not sufficiently explained, feel free to contact us via the

Yes, go to Team --> Illegal Rosters to view which teams have illegal rosters for which lineup periods. By clicking on the
+ icon for a given team and lineup period, you can also view the illegal roster messages.
All players set to that position will lose their stats/points for the entire season (non-head-to-head leagues) or
the entire scoring period (head-to-head leagues).
Players set to that position will no longer accumulate any more stats/points beginning the day after the maximum
was exceeded, for the remainder of the season (non-head-to-head leagues) or the remainder of the scoring period \
(head-to-head leagues).
Whichever position you have a player set to on your team roster, that's what his Game Played will count towards.
Therefore, if your Pitcher was in the RP position, it will count as a Game Played towards the RP position, regardless
of whether that Pitcher started the game or pitched in relief. You can view the min/max GP requirements for all
positions in the Rosters section in the League Rules Summary screen. You can also view these requirements,
including the running total for each position, by clicking on the "Games Per Pos" tab near the top of the Team
Roster screen.
The min/max GP requirements above should not be confused with the min/max scoring category requirements, which can
be found in the League Rules Summary screen under Scoring --> Team Minimum and Maximum Requirements. That
section allows the Commissioner to set min/max requirements for "Games Started" and "Relief Appearances", among
other scoring categories. These differ from the min/max GP requirements because a pitcher who starts a game will
count as a "Game Started", regardless of the position you set him to in the Team Roster screen.
By default, no, but there is an option for this that your Commissioner can set in League Setup. To see what your league has this
option set to, see the Players will always accumulate stats in all scoring category groups field in the League Rules
Summary page.
Partial innings are counted. For example, if your league awards 3 points for every IP, and a Pitcher pitches 1 2/3
IP, he will receive 5 points (3 for 1 IP + 2 for the 2 outs).
This is likely because you have "Field Goal Attempts Blocked" configured for your league, which is a "negative" stat against the kicking team.
What you want to do is replace that with "Blocked Field Goals", which is a "positive" stat for the blocking team.
This is likely because you have "Extra Point Attempts Blocked" configured for your league, which is a "negative" stat against the kicking team.
What you want to do is replace that with "Blocked Extra Points", which is a "positive" stat for the blocking team.
The general rule is that the Extra Point counts against the squad that surrendered the TD. If you find this to not be the
case for any situation, please let us know via our
feedback form.
Assisted Tackles and Solo Tackles each count as a full Tackle. For example, if a player had 1 Assisted Tackle and 1 Solo
Tackle, that would count as 2 total Tackles.
This option can be configured either way by your league's Commissioner. Go to Other --> League Rules Summary,
under the Player Pool section, to see how your particular league handles this rule.
There are several reasons why your team may not be accumulating any stats/points for a particular period or timeframe:
1) Your roster is illegal.
2) You've exceeded the maximum # of games played per position(s).
3) You've exceeded the maximum allowed for 1 or more scoring categories.
4) You haven't reached the minimum required for 1 or more scoring categories by the end of the season (or end of
the Scoring Period for head-to-head leagues).
5) The players that were Active on your team did not accumulate any stats.
If you feel none of the above reasons apply, feel free to contact us via our
feedback form
This is likely because in the
Stats dropdown in the top left area of the screen, you have
NFL (or whichever sport your
league is in) selected instead of
Fantasy Team or
Full Fantasy Team. Regardless of what's selected, Reserve players
never actually accumulate stats/points for their teams. Their stats/points are just shown for your own analysis. If you feel this is
not the case, feel free to contact us via our
feedback form.
For further details on the above options (Fantasy Team, etc.), please refer to this FAQ.
A Scoring Period, used only in head-to-head leagues, is the period of time that a team's stats/points are accumulated
for a head-to-head matchup. For example, if your league uses Weekly Monday Scoring Periods (by far the most popular choice),
then stats (or points, if your head-to-head league uses a points-based scoring system) for each fantasy team are accumulated
from games starting every Monday up until and including the following Sunday's games. Those stats/points are then matched up
against your opponent's to determine the winner for that period.
Stats will be accumulated for the game on its originally scheduled day as normal, then will continue to accumulate whenever the
game is resumed. The stats and scores for that game will apply to the lineup period containing the date that the game originally
began on.
If this option is checked, stats will accumulate for players in all scoring category groups, regardless of what position they're set
to on their fantasy team. For example:
1) In a baseball league, if a Pitcher hits a Home Run, that Home Run will count, provided that your league tracks that stat.
2) In a football league, if a Defensive Back happens to play on offense and catches a pass, that reception will count, provided that
your league tracks that stat.
3) In a hockey league, if a Goalie gets an Assist, that Assist will count, provided your league tracks that stat.
* Stats will not count twice, even if your league is tracking the same stat in multiple scoring category groups. For example, if your
league tracks Kick Return TD for offensive and defensive players, and an offensive player gets a Kick Return TD, that player's fantasy
team will be awarded 1 Kick Return TD - it will not count the stat for both the offensive and defensive groups.
This is likely because in the
Stats dropdown in the top left area of the screen, you have
NFL (or whichever sport your
league is in) selected instead of
Fantasy Team or
Full Fantasy Team. If this is not the case, feel free to contact us
via our
feedback form. For further details on these options
(Fantasy Team, etc.), please refer to this FAQ.
An overtime loss in a playoff game is simply counted as a loss on Fantrax. This is because overtime losses in playoff
games are essentially meaningless, whereas during the regular season, the team still gets a point in the standings.
At this time for the PGA Championship tournament, we are only able to acquire the following stats: Eagles, Birdies, Pars,
Bogies, Double Bogies.
We set all stats to 0's for golfers who were disqualified or withdrew from a PGA tournament.
If the maximum for any team scoring category total has been met or exceeded, then as the note reads in the Min/Max
tab in the Team Roster screen (under the "Scoring Category Totals" section): "All hitters or pitchers, depending
on the scoring category exceeded, will stop accumulating stats for the rest of the season. If the max has not been
met or exceeded at the beginning of a day, stats will accumulate throughout that entire day, even if the max is
exceeded". However, the Commissioner of your league can remove those restrictions and just set the min/max "GP
per Position" restrictions in League Setup --> Rosters (if they're not set already), as opposed to in
League Setup --> Scoring --> Min/Max. Doing so will only penalize the position that exceeded the maximum.
The difference between those settings is that using the suggested option, if a pitcher who qualifies at both SP
and RP was set to RP and started a game, it would count as a RP game, not SP. Note that any changes to league
settings will take effect retroactive to the start of the season. The differences between those 2 options can
also be found in this FAQ under the question "What is the difference between setting the "Min/Max Games Played"
restrictions...".
Only a small number of stats are updated live during PGA tournaments, while the rest of the stats are generally
updated by Monday afternoon or evening, occasionally Tuesday.
A fake field goal has nothing to do with special teams, so no. A fake field goal or fake punt is nothing more than an
offensive play from scrimmage out of a different formation. Therefore, only offensive players or the Team Offense will
get credit.
Note: Special Teams only come into play AFTER a ball is kicked and passes the line of scrimmage. If a ball is never kicked,
it is an offensive play no different from any normal offensive play
All stat corrections that occur 24 or more hours after the end of the game can be found in Other --> All Options -->
Stat Corrections. In the NFL, the Elias Sports Bureau (the official statistician for the NFL) reviews all of the
games on tape every week and issues official stat corrections usually 2 days after all games are final (on Wednesday),
however there is no deadline for these stat changes so they can technically occur at any time (even weeks after, although
that is rare). Note that these corrections are generally for individual defensive players (IDP's), in particular for Sacks
and Tackles.

Yes, you can choose to allow pending claims/drops to be viewable by either you (the Commissioner), every team, or nobody.
This can be done by adjusting the Pending Claims/Drops are viewable by option in Commissioner --> League Setup -->
Transactions --> Claims/Drops.
Yes - by default, a blind bidding system is used. If you want to use an open bidding system, go to Commissioner -->
League Setup --> Transactions --> Claims/Drops and check the "Show highest pending bids" option. If you also want
the name of the team with the highest pending bid for each player to be displayed, then check the "Show team with
highest pending bid" option as well.
You can process a trade immediately by executing it using Commissioner Mode in the Trade screen.
Team Owners
Once a player goes on waivers, he remains there for a period of time defined by your league's Commissioner (for
example "until every Wednesday at 3:00am", or "for 3 days"). During this time, team owners may put in claims for
any of these players. At the time claims are processed, players that team owners have made claims for are awarded
to teams based on a priority order defined by the Commissioner (for example, one priorty order would be "Based on
the reverse order of the standings"). Teams may also be denied their claims if they will violate certain roster restriction
rules defined by the Commissioner. After waivers are processed, all players who have not been awarded to teams
become Free Agents, and follow your league's Free Agent Claim System rules. All of these rules can be found in
Other --> League Rules Summary.
Fantrax's Free Agent Bidding system uses a blind or open bidding system to award players to team owners based on who bid
the most for them. These teams may be denied their claims if their remaining Free Agent Acquisition Budget (FAAB)
is insufficient, or if the players bid on would violate certain roster restriction rules defined by your league's Commissioner.
Team owners may bid on Free Agents at any time, and these are bids processed on specific days / time of the week
defined by the Commissioner. Free Agents who are not awarded to teams when bids are processed will remain Free Agents.
With the blind bidding system, pending bids are not displayed to other teams. When bids are processed, the winning bid
amount and fantasy team for each player are revealed in the Transaction History screen.
When the open bidding system, the highest pending bid amount for each player is displayed in the Pending Transactions
screen. Your Commissioner can also enable the option to display which fantasy team each of those highest bids belongs to.
The above rules for your league can be found in Other --> League Rules Summary, under Transactions --> Free Agents.
A Lineup Period refers to the length of time that team rosters are locked for, and can be Daily, Semi-weekly, Weekly,
Bi-weekly and Monthly. Once the deadline for a particular Lineup Period has passed, team rosters are locked for that
entire period and cannot be changed. Transactions (lineup changes, claims/drops, trades) can only be executed for the
upcoming Lineup Period, and not the current one, with one exception (*). Transactions also apply to the whole period,
and can not be applied to just part of the period.
For example, if your league uses Weekly lineup periods starting every Monday, and you claim a player
on Wednesday the 10th, during period #3 (Monday the 8th through Sunday the 14th), that claim will not take effect
until period #4 (Monday the 15th through Sunday the 21st), and will apply to that entire period, which includes all
games played that Monday (the 15th) up until and including games played on the following Sunday (games started on that
Sunday that don't end until Monday are also included). If your league uses Daily lineup periods, lineup changes
will take effect either on the same day or the next day, depending on your league's Roster Deadline rule (*).
The exact time (and day, for periods that aren't Daily) that lineups are locked for the upcoming period varies, and is
determined by the Roster Deadline which is also configured by your league's Commissioner and can be viewed in the
League Rules Summary screen.
* The only time that transactions can take effect for the same period is if your league uses Daily lineup periods when
lineups are locked at a Set amount of time before each player's game of the day, and the transactions only
include players whose games haven't yet started that day.
You must contact your league's Commissioner to do this. Note that this will also undo any associated transaction
fees that were applied to your team.
If the claim/drop has already been processed, then you must contact your league's Commissioner to do this. Note that
this will also undo any associated transaction fees that were applied to your team, and add 1 back to your # of
claims remaining (if applicable).
Go to the Pending Transactions screen, check the Cancel box for the appropriate transaction(s), then click the
Save Changes button.
You can do this in Transactions --> Pending Transactions, when you have 2 or more pending claims/bids. The
Group field allows you to separate claims into different groups, and the Max # of claims per group
field allows you to set the maximum # of claims the system will successfully execute for each group that you
configure. For example, you have pending claims for 2 different RB while dropping the same RB, and pending claims
for 2 different WR, while dropping the same WR. One possible configuration would be the following:
Group 1 (Max # of claims per group = 1)
1) Claim Player A (WR), Drop Player X (WR)
2) Claim Player B (WR), Drop Player X (WR)
Group 2 (Max # of claims per group = 1)
1) Claim Player C (RB), Drop Player X (RB)
2) Claim Player D (RB), Drop Player X (RB)
With this configuration, you're telling the system to claim Player A first, and if that fails (for any number of
reasons, e.g. he was already claimed by another owner), to try claiming Player B. If you successfully claim Player
A, the system will not try to claim Player B, since you have Max # of claims per group set to 1. In the same
fashion, the system will attempt to claim one of the RB above in the specified order.
The system will not necessarily attempt these claims starting from Group 1 going down (i.e. Group 2 may be
processed first).
* In order to be able to separate claims into different groups and set the Max # of claims per group field
for each group, the Commissioner of your league must have the "Advanced Pending Claim/Bid Controls" option enabled.
This is likely because you're looking at the wrong Lineup Period in the Team Roster screen. The "Period" column
in the Transaction History screen shows which Lineup Period the transaction took effect from. If this is not the case,
feel free to contact us via our
feedback
form and we will assist you.

They get reset on midnight of the day your league's Commissioner has selected. For example, if your league allows a maximum
of 3 claims per week every Monday, your claim total will get reset back to 3 every Monday morning at 12:00am.
There are a few possible reasons for this:
1) Your league is configured to be a "duplicate player" league, meaning any player can be claimed by and exist on multiple teams. Thus,
there is no need for trades. The Commissioner can change this setting in Commissioner Options --> League Setup --> General if
the draft has not started yet.
2) Your league is configured to not allow trades. The Commissioner can change this setting in Commissioner Options --> League Setup -->
Transactions --> Trades.
3) Your league is configured to only allow the Commissioner to make trades. The Commissioner can change this setting in
Commissioner Options --> League Setup --> Transactions --> Trades.
Your league is configured to either not allow claims/drops at all, or to only allow the Commissioner to perform claims & drops.
The Commissioner can change this setting in Commissioner Options --> League Setup --> Transactions --> Claims/Drops.
Yes, you can do this in the Pending Transactions screen. Simply change the bid amount of the appropriate claim and click the
Save Changes button.
Yes, you can do this in the Pending Transactions screen. Click on the up/down arrows to re-order your FA/WW claims as needed,
then click the Save Changes button.
You can create conditional player claims in the Pending Transactions screen. For example, if you have claims for 2 players but
only want a maximum of 1 of them, you must follow these steps:
1) Submit your claims/bids in the Claim/Drop screen.
2) Go to the Pending Transactons screen and prioritize your claims however you wish, using the up/down arrows.
3) Select "1" for the Max # Claims per Group field.
4) Click the Save Changes button.
If your first claim is successful when claims are processed, the second claim will automatically be denied. If your first claim is
denied for any reason, your second claim will be processed and you may get that player.
You can also separate your claims into different groups and then prioritize them and make them conditional within each group. For
example in an NFL league, if you only want 1 out of 2 RB and 1 out of 2 QB that you submitted claims for, you would follow these steps:
1) Submit your claims/bids in the Claim/Drop screen.
2) Go to the Pending Transactons screen and select "2" in the Group column for both of the RB's, moving them into a
separate group from the 2 pending QB claims.
3) Prioritize your claims for the 2 RB's and 2 QB's however you wish, using the up/down arrows.
4) Select "1" for the Max # Claims per Group field in Group 1 (QB's) and Group 2 (RB's).
5) Click the Save Changes button.
If your first claim in Group 1 is successful when claims are processed, the second claim in Group 1 will automatically be denied. If
your first claim in Group 1 is denied for any reason, your second claim in Group 1 will be processed and you may get that player. This
process is then repeated for Group 2.
There are several reasons why this can happen:
1) The deadline for the selected Lineup Period has already passed.
2) If only some players are disabled, this is because your league uses Daily Lineup Periods with the deadline set to a fixed amount of
time (e.g. 5 minutes) before each player's game each day, and those players' games have already started.
3) Your league is set to only allow the Commissioner to make lineup changes (see the
League Rules Summary page).
If none of the above reasons apply, feel free to contact us via our
feedback form.
Yes, but only once the new/upcoming season is available. For example, if your 2011 NFL season has ended, you will not be able to
execute any type of off-season transaction (claims/drops, trades or lineup changes) until 2012 NFL Commissioner leagues become
available, which will be shortly after the end of the 2011 NFL season. After that time, you'll be able to renew your league for
the upcoming season and then execute off-season transactons, provided you have the appropriate settings configured in League Setup.
The same process applies to all sports that we offer.
Players go on waivers when they enter your league's available player pool. This can occur:
a) When a fantasy team drops a player.
b) When a new player has been added to our system.
c) When a player has been traded from his MLB (or other sport) team that's not in your league's player pool to an MLB (or other
sport) team in your league's player pool.
Other methods of sending players to the Waiver Wire are coming soon.
If your league does not use a Waiver Wire system, all players in the available player pool are Free Agents.
If your league uses a Waiver Wire system, players in the available player pool are either Free Agents or on the Waiver Wire.
If they are on the Waiver Wire, they become Free Agents as soon as waivers are processed, provided they were not claimed by a
fantasy team.
For information regarding when players go on waivers, see the FAQ question When do players go on waivers (i.e. the Waiver Wire)?.
When you claim/add a FA/WW player, you will not acquire his stats/points prior to when he was on your team. If you
want to acquire that player's previous stats/points, your Commissioner can do so retroactive to any date/period
using Commissioner Mode in the Claim/Drop page.
When you drop a player from your team, all stats/points that he previously accumulated for your team while in Active
status will not be lost. If you want that player's previously accumulated stats/points to be removed from your team,
your Commissioner can do so retroactive to any date/period using Commissioner Mode in the Claim/Drop page.
When you trade for players, you will not acquire their stats/points prior to when they were on your team. Conversely, you will
retain the stats/points from the players you traded away while they were Active on your team. If you want the opposite to occur,
your Commissioner can do so retroactive to any date/period using Commissioner Mode in the Trade page.
First of all, as always, please report this problem to as with as much detail as possible, including exact steps
taken to reproduce the problem. If you're in a Public league and you let us know the lineup change(s) you wish
to make BEFORE the lineup deadline, we will make the change(s) for you. If you inform us after the deadline, we will
likely not make the change(s) for you, especially if we feel the extra time could have been used to your advantage.
If you're in a Private league, these changes must be handled by your league's Commissioner, which can be done
even after the deadline has passed, retroactive to before the deadline.
In the Pending Transactions screen, when you have at least 1 pending claim, a field exists called "Max # Claims per
Group". If it is set to "1", for example, for a particular group of pending claims, then you will only get a maximum of 1
of your claims for that group when claims are processed, regardless of how many pending claims you had in that group, or
any other league setting. Note that you can change the default value for that setting in Team --> My Team Preferences.
There are several reasons why a claim might have been denied. The Fantrax Messages section in your league home
page displays the reason for all of your team's denied claims. Also, in the Transaction History page, if you
uncheck the "executed only" box, and then hover your mouse over the "Claim Denied" text, the reason why that claim was
denied will be displayed, for any team.
The Can't Drop List is used to preserve league integrity by preventing many of the elite players (the approximate
number varies depending upon the sport) from being dropped by team owners. This list is updated by Fantrax on a
regular basis during the season, with players being added and removed based on performance and injury. It is also
designed for leagues with 12 teams and a typical number of roster positions. Smaller leagues will likely have many
elite players available in the player pool at any given time, which would prohibit team owners from making
claims/drops in order to help their team.
* Players on this list can still be benched or traded.
** This list cannot be edited by the Commissioner at this time, but can be temporarily disabled in order to allow
a team to drop a player, if the Commissioner chooses to do so.
*** If you feel a particular player should be on this list who isn't on it, or vice versa, feel free to state your
case to Fantrax Support via the
feedback form. If we feel it is valid, we will make the change to the
Can't Drop List.
The trade deadline date set by the Commissioner is the last day that team owners can propose and accept trades with each other. A trade
can be pending owner/commissioner approval past this deadline, as long as it was proposed and accepted by all teams involved before the
deadline. For example, if your trade deadline is set to November 15, then you can propose and accept trades up until November 15, 11:59pm.
After that time, you can no longer propose or accept a trade, even if it was proposed to you before the deadline. If your league uses a
trade voting system, the voting period can go beyond that deadline and thus the trade can be executed beyond the deadline, as long as it
was accepted by November 15, 11:59pm. If no trade deadline date has been configured, then trades are allowed throughout the entire season.
This is likely because your draft has not been completed, as claims prior to the draft being completed do not count against any maximums
configured by the Commissioner. If that is the case, you should see a "Draft in Progress" message near the top of your fantasy league home
page, directly above the "Live Chat" window. After your Commissioner completes the draft, claims will begin counting against the max.
Here are the different trade voting systems your league can use:
1) None: Your league does not use a voting system on trades. Trades will be executed immediately after
they have been accepted by all teams involved.
2) Owners: All team owners except the ones involved in the trade will have the right to vote against a
trade after it has been accepted by all teams involved. If the minimum # of objections are met within the pre-
configured # of days (set by the Commissioner), that trade will be vetoed.
3) Commissioner (Private leagues only): After a trade has been accepted by all teams involved, the
Commissioner will have an unlimited timeframe to either approve or reject the trade.
4) Owners & Commissioner (Private leagues only): This works the same way as the Owners voting
system, with the exception that if the required # of objections are met, the Commissioner then has an unlimited
timeframe to either approve or reject the trade. This essentially allows the Commissioner to only have to review
trades that the other owners have deemed unfair, as opposed to the Commissioner voting system.
Your Commissioner enabled the "Force drop for each claim" option when configuring your league.
No, that is not possible at this time. The reason is that if the player not having played during the current Lineup
Period was to be claimed for the following Lineup Period (as opposed to the current Lineup Period), then he would
still be available to be claimed for the current Lineup Period, which of course doesn't make sense and would cause
various problems. For example, it's Sunday 2:00pm, and you want to claim Player A whose game starts at 4:00pm, while
dropping Player B whose game began at 1:00pm. If your league's roster deadline setting is "before each player's
game begins", then the claim for Player A will take effect for the current week, but the drop for Player B will
take effect for the following week, since that player's game has already begun. For now, with that roster deadline
setting, it is recommended that one waits until both players' games have begun during the current week/Lineup Period,
if you wish to execute a claim/drop where both take effect the following week/Lineup Period. We will look into
alternative solutions for this type of situation down the road.
This is likely because your league has the Ensure 24+ hour wait period option enabled, which ensures that
there must be at least 24 hours in between when a waiver claim is submitted, and when that claim is processed.
For example, if your league has waivers set to process every Wednesday at 12:00pm, and you submitted a waiver
claim on Tuesday at 3:00pm, that claim would not be processed until the following Wednesday (i.e. just under 8
days later), since that claim was submitted less than 24 hours before the next waiver wire processing time.
Pending claims for free agents will be processed before pending claims for players on the waiver wire.
That is enforced so that owners cannot circumvent the current system in order to have their lowest possible bid win.
We offer 3 different lineup change systems, which you have the option to change at the bottom of the Team Roster
screen, or you can change the default lineup change system in the My Team Preferences screen.
Easy-Click:Click on the arrows icon for the player you want to move, then click on one of the arrows icons
highlighted in green, which indicates that the player you've selected can be moved into that slot.
Drag & Drop:Click on the arrows icon for the player you want to move, hold the mouse button down, then drag
to one of the slots highlighted in green, which indicates that the player you've selected can be moved into that
slot, and release the mouse botton.
Classic
Click on the dropdown box in the Position column and/or Status column for the player you want to
move, then select the new position and/or status.
* The Classic lineup change system works slightly differently,
in that you must change the Position and Status separately for each player. You also have the ability to change the
position of a player on Reserve/Injured Reserve/Minors status, while keeping him in that status, which can't be done
with the other 2 lineup change systems.
** Be sure to click the Submit Changes button after you're done making your lineup changes. That button will
turn orange as soon as you make any changes.
At this time the
Import Players/Offline Draft screen cannot be accessed after your draft has been completed. However, there
should be a workaround for whatever you're trying to accomlpish (for example, adding a player to a team). If you feel there
isn't, feel free to contact Fantrax Customer Support via our
feedback form
and we will assist you.
Go to Commissioner --> All Options --> Open Live Draft Room.
The Live Online Draft room is not available for Duplicate Player leagues. Live "drafts" are not needed for Duplicate Player
leagues since everyone can own the same player at the same time. Therefore, people can pick their team anytime before the deadline,
using the Player Picker screen.
Yes, you can. Simply click the + sign next to the player you want to draft, when it is the team in question's turn to pick.
Yes, you can run as many mock drafts as you wish, completely free, by either clicking on the Mock Draft Lobby link on the
right side of the screen, or you can customize your own draft by following these steps:
1) Create a Commissioner league for your mock draft.
2) Configure your draft settings as you see fit in Commissioner --> League Setup --> Draft, and be sure that the League
Setup process is complete, so that your draft is eligible to run.
3) Click on the Live Draft link to participate in your draft at the scheduled time.
4) If you wish to run another draft, then after the draft is done (or at any time during the draft), go to Commissioner
--> All Options --> Undo Draft, set a new draft date/time in the Draft League Setup screen, then click on the Live
Draft link again.
Our Live Online Draft room is extremely stable and safe for your league to use.
If you want the order to be the same (for non-serpentine drafts) or the exact opposite (for serpentine drafts) for each round,
you can set the draft order in Commissioner --> League Setup --> Draft. If you want to be able to adjust any team's
pick in any round, go to Other --> Draft Picks, turn Commissioner Mode on (by clicking the yellow OFF link),
then click the Edit link for whichever round you want to adjust the picks in. After you're done, be sure to click the
Save Changes button. You can also edit the draft order using the Adjust/Trade Draft Pick option in the Live
Draft Room.
* Changing the draft order in any way is not possible in Public leagues.
Yes, you can do that via Commissioner --> Import Players/Offline Draft.
Yes, you can draft for any team when it's their turn to pick, the same way you would draft a player for your own team (i.e.
click the + sign next to the player's name).
Yes, go to Commissioner --> All Options --> Open Live Draft Room. You can then use the Rewind draft to.. option in the
Live Draft Room to go back to any point in the draft.
Yes, go to Commissioner --> All Options --> Undo Draft/Reset League. Note that this option will set your draft back to
the beginning and remove all players from teams, except those designated as keepers (i.e. they have the lock icon next to their
name). Also, the entire transaction history and all team data (FA Budget, # Claims, etc.) will be reset, where applicable. Your
league settings will remain the same. This option is not available for public leagues.
You can also undo your draft and clear all rosters, without deleting your transaction history, team data, etc. If your league
ran a Live Online Draft, then you must go to Commissioner --> All Options --> Open Live Draft Room. You can then use
the Rewind draft to.. option in the Live Draft Room to go back to the start of the draft. If your league used an Offline
Draft, then go to Commissioner --> League Setup --> Draft, change the draft type to Live Online, then follow the
steps above for re-opening a Live Online draft.
No, not at this time. You must use the Claim/Drop screen to add players to teams during the season. One option
to consider would be to create a 2nd league, just for your mid-season draft, and then add the drafted players to their
appropriate teams in your original league using the Claim/Drop screen.
That option has not been implemented yet. However, one workaround is for the Commissioner to add more Reserve
spots to your league's roster restrictions. This will allow teams to draft those Minors players to Reserve status
instead, and then move them to Minors status in the Team Roster screen after the draft has been completed.
Go to Other --> Draft Picks, turn Commissioner Mode on (by clicking the yellow "OFF" link), and click the
"edit" link for the round you wish to edit. Alternatively, if you're using a live online draft, you can edit picks
in the live draft room using the Adjust/Trade Draft Pick feature under the Commissioner Options menu.
There are several reasons why this might have happened:
1) A stat correction has occurred. You can find every stat correction that occurred 24+ hours after the game has ended
by going to
Other --> All Options --> Stat Corrections.
2) The Commissioner changed a league setting that affects the scoring (see
Other --> System Log). Any change to
any league setting takes effect for the entire season, retroactive to Period 1.
3) The Commissioner executed a retroactive transaction (lineup change, claim/drop or trade), which of course can affect
the scoring from that period and all periods thereafter. All transactions can be seen in the
Transaction History
screen, and those executed in Commissioner Mode are indicated by a blue icon next to the date and time of the transaction
in question.
If none of the above situations have occurred, feel free to contact us via our
feedback form.
Team Owners
The Import Players/Offline Draft tool is used to enter draft results by the Commissioner, generally sometime after a group of friends get together
in person to do their league's draft. After the Commissioner finishes the Offline Draft, the league will officially begin.
Players submitted via the Import Players/Offline Draft tool will appear on their respective teams starting from Period #1,
regardless of when the Commissioner finishes the draft.
* Offline Drafts are not available for Public leagues.
A Live Online Draft allows all team owners to take turns drafting players on Fantrax in real-time, starting at a date & time
pre-determined by the league's Commissioner. The draft order, # of draft rounds, time limit per pick, and other draft-related
settings, also configured by the Commissioner, can be viewed in the League Rules Summary screen. If you cannot attend your
draft, it is recommended that you rank your players in the Rank Players screen sometime prior to the start of the draft. This
will allow the system to draft your team based on your preferences, as opposed to Fantrax's default player rankings.
* Live Online Drafts are not available for Duplicate Player leagues.
A Live Online Slow Draft works the same way as a Live Online Draft, except the time limit per pick is at least 30 minuntes.
Also, teams have the option to be e-mailed when it is their turn to pick.
* Live Online Slow Drafts are not available for Duplicate Player leagues.
Fantrax will automatically draft players for every fantasy team at a date & time pre-determined by the league's Commissioner, based
on how each team ranked their players prior to the draft in the Rank Players page. If players are not manually ranked by a
team owner, Fantrax's default rankings will be used.
* Automated Drafts are not available for Duplicate Player leagues.
The Player Picker screen is only used for Duplicate Player leagues, where any player may be
taken from the player pool, regardless of which players other teams already have. This screen allows each
team owner to form their initial team before the season begins, at their own pace, up until the deadline set
by the Commissioner. Team owners may use this screen at any time, as many times as they want, up until that
deadline.
The team that you form using this screen will take effect from the start of the season (Period #1), regardless
of when the Player Picker deadline date is. Moving players to and from your team using the Player Picker screen
does not count as claims or drops, and thus will not appear in the Transaction History screen. After the
Player Picker deadline has passed and your season begins, the Claim/Drop screen will become available
(if your league allows claims & drops), and claiming/dropping players using this screen will appear in the
Transaction History screen and thus count against the max # of claims allowed (if applicable).
We do not yet offer Live Auction Drafts, but will sometime in 2013. A more precise date is not available
quite yet, however we will have this ready as quickly as we can. Feel free to offer suggestions as to what features
you'd like to see via our
feedback form.
In the meantime, what most of our users who use live auction drafts have done is ran their auction draft on another
free website, then imported the results of that draft using our
Import Players/Offline Draft tool. Another alternative
is to use the live chat window in the league home page to run your auction, and then use the
Import Players/Offline Draft
tool to enter the results after each successful bid.
Yes, players that are drafted will always appear on team rosters from the beginning of the season (Period #1), and their stats/points will
automatically be calculated from then, regardless of when your draft has been completed (before or after your fantasy season begins).
This applies to all draft types.
Not yet, but this feature is coming soon.
If you fail to attend a Live Online Draft, Fantrax will draft your team for you based on your pre-draft player rankings
in the Rank Players page. If you did not pre-rank your players, Fantrax's default rankings will be used.
That's because the current pick (or 1st pick if the draft hasn't started) is always in the centre of that list. As teams start drafting players,
that list will scroll and you will see the rest of them. Also, you can click on the magnifying glass icon at the top of that list at any
time to see the full draft order/results.
Try clicking the
Reconnect button. If that fails, and the Commissioner has attempted to resume your draft, then
please contact us via our
feedback form
and we will likely have someone look into and fix/resume your draft within minutes.
As soon as the Commissioner sets the draft order to "random", the order gets set and can be viewed in
Other --> League Rules Summary or in the Live Draft room. This order will not change unless the
Commissioner does so, or if teams are added to or removed from your league before the start. If a new
team is added, then it will be randomly placed in the existing draft order, and all other teams will
remain in their current draft positions. If a team is removed from the league, it will simply be removed
from the draft order, and all other teams will remain in their current draft positions.
Teams whose owners are present in the live draft room will have a green checkmark on the Draft List
section on the right side of the screen.
Yes, go to Other --> All Options --> Copy Pre-Draft Player Rankings.
Not at this time, however many types of audio alerts and other sounds will be available in the Live Draft room later
this year.
The menu on the right hand side of the screen has a Create League option, which lets you choose the sport you want and then
starts the league setup process.
Go to Commissioner --> All Options --> Delete this league. Once your league has been deleted, you will not be
able to recover it.
* This option is not available for public leagues if other teams have joined.
1) Go to Commissioner --> League Setup --> Teams & Schedules --> Teams.
2) For each team you want to invite, enter their e-mail address. Team Name and Abbreviation are optional.
3) Check the Send Invitation boxes for these teams.
4) Enter a personal message you would like these team owners to receive in their e-mail invitations (optional).
5) Click the Send e-mail invitations and save button.
You cannot send e-mail invitations on that screen to team owners that have already joined your league. You can see which teams
have owners in the Joined column on that screen.
This feature should be available sometime in 2012. However, there is a workaround which you can accomplish by creating a copy
of your league in Commissioner --> All Options --> Copy/Renew League, then creating a new playoff bracket just for the
losing teams, in the new copied league.
Go to Commissioner --> League Setup --> Teams & Schedules --> Teams, enter the 2 fields at the top of the screen
(Team Name & Abbreviation), click the Create button beside them, then save the page.
Yes, each team can have a double-header or as many matchups per scoring period as you like. This must be done
manually at this time with the following steps:
1) Go to Commissioner --> League Setup --> Teams & Schedules --> Matchups.
2) Select the Scoring Period you wish to view/edit.
3) Add as many matchups per team as you wish, for example:
Team A vs Team B
Team A vs Team C
Team A vs Team D
In the near future we will develop an automated system for creating multiple matchups per period.
There are a few league rules that can be configured to prevent most if not all types of collusion:
1) Waiver Wire: There are many different types of Waiver Wire configurations, but the general idea is to
give every team a chance to pick up a player that has been dropped into the Free Agent pool. This will prevent
one team from dropping a player specifically so another team he's colluding with can pick him up immediately
after, provided that your Free Agent Claim System is set to "Free For All".
2) Trade Voting System: There are many different configuratons for trade voting, but the general idea is
to prevent teams from making grossly unfair trades with each other. If enough team owners vote against the trade,
(or the Commissioner, depending on the type of voting system configured) it will be vetoed.
Other collusion-preventing measures including "Can't Drop Lists" are coming soon. In the meantime, if you feel a team is cheating/colluding, don't hesitate to let us know. We do reserve the right to remove teams from Public leagues that we strongly feel are doing so.
Private leagues: Yes, any rule can be changed at any time.
Public leagues: No changes to League Setup can be made by the Commissioner after 1 or more teams have joined your league. Generally,
there must be a unanimous vote from all active league members in your league's message forums for Fantrax to make any such changes.
If this unanimous vote does occur, contact us via our
feedback form and we will make
the change(s). However, there are certain changes that we will make for you that don't require a league vote, most often because an
error was made in the League Setup (e.g. you didn't configure the proper # of min/max players required to allow for a legal roster.
* Any changes to league settings (e.g. to your league's scoring system or roster restrictions) will always take effect retroactive to
the start of the season, and NOT from the date the change was made on.
Go to Commissioner --> League Setup --> Misc --> Keeper League, and check the "Is this a keeper league" box. You will then
see several new keeper league options available to you.
You can upload your league's logo in Commissioner --> League Setup --> General. The logo will then appear in your fantasy
league home page, and in the near future several other pages.
1) Go to Commissioner --> League Setup --> Teams & Schedules --> Teams.
2) Fill in the Team Name and Team Abbreviation fields at the top of the screen.
3) Click the Create button.
4) Click Save or Save & Continue.
* The above applies to Private leagues. Commissioners will automatically have their team created when creating a new
Public league.
Go to Commissioner --> All Options --> Copy/Renew League. You will be able to copy/renew every aspect of your league,
including the league settings, teams, players, contracts, salaries, etc.
Message forum postings cannot be edited at this time, but you can delete them by clicking on the "Delete this message" or "Delete this
thread" link (to delete the entire thread/topic) when viewing a posting.
This functionality is not available yet, but will be in the near future.
1) Go to Commissioner --> League Setup --> Teams & Schedules --> Teams.
2) Clik the + icon next to the team you want to add a 2nd owner to.
3) Enter the e-mail address for that 2nd owner.
4) Repeat steps 2 & 3 to add more owners to that team.
5) Save the page.
Go to Commissioner --> All Options --> Enable/Disable Commissioners.
Go to Commissioner --> All Options --> Manage Owners.
This option isn't in the user interface quite yet, however we can do that for you. Simply let us know which 2

To configure your playoff matchups manually (i.e. select which fantasy teams will play each other in which round):
1) Go to Commissioner --> League Setup --> Teams & Schedules --> Playoffs.
2) Check the Use Playoffs option if it isn't checked already.
3) Check the Enter playoff matchups manually option if it isn't checked already and save the page.
4) Go to Commissioner --> League Setup --> Teams & Schedules --> Matchups.
5) Select the 1st Playoff Scoring Period and configure the appropriate matchups.
6) Repeat step #5 for subsequent round of the playoffs, once the previous round is over.
* The above should be done once your regular season is over and/or the playoff seeds have been determined.
To use Fantrax's playoff matchup generator:
1) Go to Commissioner --> League Setup --> Teams & Schedules --> Playoffs.
2) Check the Use Playoffs option if it isn't checked already.
3) Uncheck the Enter playoff matchups manually option if it isn't unchecked already.
4) Configure all other settings on that page as you wish and save the page.
** Commissioners of Public leagues must use Fantrax's playoff matchup generator and can only change those settings
before the league's draft begins.
The Commissioner of a league can enter Commissioner Mode (by clicking on the yellow "OFF" link) in the Team Roster,
Claim/Drop and Trade screens. This allows him/her to execute any type of transaction (lineup changes, claims/drops,
trades) for any team owner and for any period or date from the beginning of the season.
Go to Commissioner --> League Setup --> Teams & Schedules --> Teams, click the "x" icon beside the team's name,
and click the "Save" button. All of that team's players (if any) will then either go to the Waiver Wire (if your league
uses the Waiver Wire) or become Free Agents.
Clicking on the Publish button in any of the League Setup screens will make your league appear in the Published Leagues
page. Any Fantrax user can join a league that appears in this screen, however Private leagues will require the user to enter
a League ID and Password in order to join the league.
Simply add that scoring category to your league's scoring system in Commissioner --> League Setup --> Scoring, and
assign a value of 0 to it.
Yes, this option is available in Commissioner --> League Setup --> Player Pool.
Go to Commissioner --> All Options --> Player Position Eligibility, select the player you wish to remove, remove (uncheck)
all eligible positions for that player, then click the Change Position Eligibility button. If that player is already on
a fantasy team, he must be dropped in order to be removed from your league.
Clicking the Publish button will make your league appear in the Published Leagues page, where any Fantrax user
will be allowed to join it. If your league is set to Private, then a League ID and Password will be required to join
it.
Go to Commissioner --> League Setup --> Teams & Schedules --> Matchups, and click the Regenerate Matchups
button.
Yes, that option is available in Commissioner --> League Setup --> Misc --> Misc. The following pages will be
viewable to the public: Team Roster, Standings, Players and Transaction History. In order for them to view those pages,
you will have to send them the URL found in the address bar when visiting each of those pages.
Yes, this is the "league insurance" feature that you're looking for, which is only available in Premium Commissioner
leagues. We back up all Premium leagues on a daily basis (at approximately 1am ET) in an easy-to-recover way. Therefore,
if you want your league restored (for any reason) and you have a Premium Commissioner league, simply let us know which
date you want your league restored from. You can go here for more info on Premium Commissioner leagues:
http://www.fantrax.com/premiumLeague.go?gameId=1100.
If your league is Head-to-Head and uses playoffs, the system picks the champion based on which team had the most points in
the final round of your playoffs. If you manually configured your playoff matchups, the system may pick the wrong winner
depending on your configuration and what happened in the final round. You can override the winner by going to
Commissioner --> All Options --> Override Default League Champion.
Yes, all options to hide live chat messages can be found in Commissioner --> League Setup --> Misc --> Chat.
Team Owners
A Duplicate Player league is a league that allows any player to exist on multiple fantasy teams at any time. This is often used for
Salary Cap leagues, but can be used for any other type of league as well. There are 2 types of Duplicate Player leagues:
1) Across Different Divisions: Each division has its own player pool. For example, if a fantasy team owns Player A in Division 1, no other
teams in that division can own that player. However, teams in Division 2 (or any other division) can own that player. Trades can be
made within each division, but not between teams in different divisions. Also, each division has its own Free Agent claim
priority order (if your league does not use the Free For All (1st come 1st serve) FA claim system. The Waiver Wire
process is not available.
2) Across the Entire League: Any player can be owned by the number of fantasy teams of your choosing, regardless of whether or not the league has
any divisions. Trading and the Waiver Wire process are of course not necessary for this type of league, and thus not available.
Yes, go to the Team Roster screen and click on the "Drag & Drop" button near the bottom of the screen. You can
also make that your default lineup change system via the My Team Preferences screen.
To add players to your Watch List, go to the Players page and click on the watch list icon (picture of an eye) in
the Action column.
You can view your Watch List in the fantasy league home page by clicking on the Watch List tab (next to the
All Player News tab) in the Players section.
Please refer to the
Standings Tiebreakers section in
Other --> League Rules Summary. If you feel that the order of the
standings still isn't correct, and you're using the "Best Head-to-Head Record" tiebreaker method, please refer to the FAQ
question "Why do I appear below a team in the standings when I have the same or better head-to-head record against them?".
If you've already done that, feel free to contact us via our
feedback form.
The tiebreaker rule "Best Head-to-Head Record" takes your combined record against ALL of the teams you're tied with, as
opposed to your record against each individual team that you're tied with. For example, if 4 teams have the same overall
record in the standings, and the results of playing against each other are:
Team A beat Team B
Team B beat Team C
Team C beat Team A
Team A beat Team B
Their order in the standings would be (with their head-to-head record against each other in parenthesis):
1) Team A (2-1-0)
2) Team C (1-1-0)
3) Team B (1-2-0)
Although Team B beat Team C in their only matchup against each other, Team C appears above Team B in the standings due to having a better record
against all teams he's tied with (Team C: 1-1-0, Team B: 1-2-0). If you have the same head-to-head record as the team you're
tied with, then the next tiebreaker rule is used, which you can find in the Tiebreakers (Standings) section in Other --> League
Rules Summary.
Yes, you can view all players who have had their positions overridden by the Commissioner, including what their original
and new eligible positions are in Other --> All Options --> Overridden Positions.
Go to the Players page and hover your mouse over "WW" for the player in question.
At this time none of our data providers carry injury data for NCAA Basketball or NCAA Football. We are looking into
other options and hope to make this available before the 2013 seasons. In the meantime, if your league uses the
Injured Reserve status, your Commissioner will have to manually administer this (he can set any roster player to
Injured Reserve status using Commissioner Mode).
This could mean one of 2 things:
1) The team owner abandoned his team (and the league).
2) The Commissioner added a team but an owner never joined that team.
Either way, the team still exists (possibly with players), but is not being managed (anymore) and is available to
be taken over by another Fantrax user.
There are several reasons why a player you're looking for is not appearing in your league's player pool:
1) You have "All Available Players" selected instead of "All", and the player is already on a fantasy team.
2) You have a position selected that the player is not eligible at (e.g. WR instead of RB).
3) None of the player's eligible positions are being used by your league, either because. For example if you're looking for a TE,
and your league does not use the TE position or any parent of that position (such as the RB/WR/TE "Flex" position), he will
not appear in your league's player pool. If you want to add that player to your league's player pool without adding TE to
your league's roster restrictions (in
Commissioner --> League Setup --> Rosters), your Commissioner can simply add TE
to his position eligibility (in
Commissioner --> All Options --> Player Position Eligibility).
* This can also be due to your Commissioner already having overridden that player's position eligibility with new positions that your
league isn't using. You can view all players' overridden positions in
Other --> Overridden Positions.
4) That player is on a team that doesn't exist in your league's player pool. For example if you're in an MLB
league that uses only American League teams, and you're looking for a player that belongs to a National League team,
he will not appear in your league's player pool. Teams can be added to your league's player pool via
Commissioner --> League
Setup --> Player Pool.
5) That player doesn't belong to an MLB team (or whichever sport your league is in), and your league has the "Only include
players signed to a MLB team in the player pool" option enabled (in
Commissioner --> League Setup --> Player Pool).
6) Your league had the "Lock player pool" option enabled (in
Commissioner --> League Setup --> Player Pool) at the time
that player became eligible for your league's player pool (for example, when he was added by us to our database). If the
Commissioner disables that option and saves the screen, that player (along with all other like players) will be added to your
league's player pool. If you only want to add that single player, then the Commissioner must go to
Commissioner --> League
Setup --> Salaries, download the .CSV file, add that player to the .CSV file, then submit that file.
7) That player is retired. Retired players do not appear in fantasy league player pools.
8) That player does not yet exist in our database. To determine whether or not a player exists in our database, go to
MLB
--> Players (or whichever sport your league is in), type in all or part of the player's name, and click the "Search" button.
If that player does not appear, then you can go to
Other --> Request New Players to submit a request for that player to
be added to our database.
If none of the above reasons apply, feel free to contact us via our
feedback form and we will assist you. Please ensure you've spelled the player's name correctly.
If your league is Private, there is nothing we can do about this. Private leagues must be policed by the Commissioner.
If your league is Public, please contact us via the
feedback form and explain in detail what exactly you feel the problem is. We have no
hard and fast rule as to what we will do in these situations, but we will certainly take the necessary action if
we feel strongly enough that a team owner is cheating/colluding with another team.
If you are the Commissioner of the league, go to the Teams tab (found in Commissioner Options --> League
Setup --> Teams & Schedules), click the "x" (remove) icon beside your team name, and click the "Save" button. This
will remove your fantasy team, however you will remain the Commissioner of that league.
If you are not the Commissioner, then go to Other --> All Options --> Quit League.
* Using the Quit League function after the draft has begun will remove you from the league, however your
fantasy team will remain intact. Using this function before the draft has begun will remove your fantasy team from
the league.
You're looking at it right now.
You can find all of your leagues, including all of those from previous seasons, by clicking on the League History link under
the MY LEAGUES menu or by simply clicking on the MY LEAGUES link.
A serpentine order (also commonly known as a snake order) reverses the order of teams each round. For example:
Round 1: Team 1, Team 2, Team 3, Team 4
Round 2: Team 4, Team 3, Team 2, Team 1
Round 3: Team 1, Team 2, Team 3, Team 4
... and so on. A non-serpentine order would go like this:
Round 1: Team 1, Team 2, Team 3, Team 4
Round 2: Team 1, Team 2, Team 3, Team 4
Round 3: Team 1, Team 2, Team 3, Team 4
... and so on. The serpentine order is more common, and is generally used for drafts and processing player claims.
Yes, when a player's team has been eliminated from the playoffs, a strikethrough (i.e. a horizontal line) appears in
his name, on all pages.
A player's Score is generated from a complex proprietary algorithm developed by our experts that takes into account
your league's scoring system, roster restrictions and the player's stats from the season that you're viewing. A player's Score
is not cumulative (like Fantasy Points), and is only calculated per season (i.e. you can not view a player's Score for a particular
period or any date range aside from the entire season).
Go to Other --> League Rules Summary.
You can do this in Team --> My Team Preferences.
Go to Team --> Owners List. Note that team owners have the option to hide certain information (e.g. phone #,
real name) from other league members via Team --> My Team Preferences.
The functionality to import most of your league's data from previous years is not available yet, but will be in the near future.
In the meantime, you can still create your league for the current/upcoming season, including importing any keepers teams might have,
and then import your league's historical data once that feature becomes available.
A Fantrax user may be a member of up to 30 leagues per sport. If you feel this is not enough, please contact us
via our
feedback form with a detailed
explanation and we may consider raising this limit.
Go to Other --> All Options --> Request New Players. Players will usually be added to our database and appear in your league's
player pool within 24 hours.
This feature is not available yet, however if you let us know which leagues you want to transfer your player rankings
from & to, we can do that for you.
In Rotisserie leagues, our player ranking system, or a player's Score which you can find in the Players page,
is generated from a complex proprietary algorithm developed by our experts that takes into account your league's
scoring system, roster restrictions and the player's stats from the season that you're viewing. A player's Score is not
cumulative (like Fantasy Points), and is only calculated per season (i.e. you can not view a player's Score for a particular
period or any date range aside from the entire season).
This feature is coming soon.
We have designed most pages (e.g. Players, Team Roster, Standings) to be printable in most web browsers. If you print out a page
and the result is not acceptable, let us know and we will look into it.
Select Schedule from the View dropdown box near the top of the Players page. The games where pitchers are scheduled to play
will be highlighted in green. Also if your league uses daily Lineup Periods, the Opp column in the default view of the Players page
will show scheduled starts for the selected day/period.
This feature is coming soon.
Yes, you can remove or rearrange the windows on your league home page via Other --> My League Preferences.
Go to Team --> My Team Preferences. Click on the Choose File button and select the image you want from your computer's
hard drive. Your team logo will then appear on several pages within that league.
Not yet, but this feature is coming soon.
There are 2 things that can happen when a player is traded outside of your league's player pool (a "real-sport" trade,
not a trade in your fantasy league). If that player is in the available player pool (i.e. a Free Agent or on the Waiver
Wire), he will be removed from the player pool and your league. If that player is on a fantasy team, he will remain on
that team (or any other fantasy team, if traded to another fantasy team) and in your league until he is dropped into the
available player pool. That player may or may not continue to accumulate stats however, depending on how your
Commissioner configured that rule (see the Player Pool section in the League Rules Summary page).
This is because we do not currently have projections for those stats.
We do offer a Playoff Commissioner product for all sports that is separate from our regular season Commissioner product.
However, if you want to extended your regular season league into the playoffs, there is a workaround for this. For
example, to continue your 2012 NFL regular season league into the 2012 NFL playoffs, go to Commissioner --> All Options
--> Copy/Renew League, and you will be able to do so and maintain all league rules, fantasy teams, etc.
The Position table in the Rank Players screen is not available at this time for leagues using a Live Online Draft.
By default, stats are shown with either 2 or 3 decimal places (for those that require decimal places), depending on the
stat. However, you simply need to hover your mouse over the stat to see the full number of decimal places, or at least 6.
For example, ".287" may appear as ".286858" on a mouse-over.
Yes we do. We have a full Live Chat box on the League Home page, with private messaging and some customization capabilities by the commissioner. We are also working on putting
a chat box on the live scoring pages.
For smartphones such as the iPhone or Android (at least most Androids, anyway), anywhere where there's internal scrolling,
such as the "fantasy team" (right) side of the Claim/Drop screen, there's a function called the "2-finger scroll", where
basically, you use 2 fingers (instead of one), slightly separated, to scroll. These scroll bars are not seen on
smartphones, but this is the way one is supposed to scroll them, since a "one-finger" scroll scrolls the entire page.
Yes, a Playoff Commissioner product is available for all sports that we offer. These Playoff Commissioner leagues offer the
same extremely high level of customizability and features as our regular season Commissioner leagues, and are generally available a few
weeks before the actual real-life playoffs (NFL, MLB, etc.) begin.
After a league is published by the Commissioner, it will appear in the Published Leagues screen, which can be accessed
by any Fantrax user. If the league is public, any user can join that league. If the league is private, a League ID and
Password are required to join.
Yes, you have 2 options:
1) Hover your mouse over the left or right edge of the Live Scoring window, click the left mouse button, then drag/stretch
the window horizontally until the horizontal scrollbars disappear.
2) If your NFL league uses "fixed range" scoring categories (as opposed to ranges you customize yourself) such as "FG 1-29",
"FG 30-39", etc., uncheck the Range box near the top right of the screen. This will hide all of them and just show 1
scoring category instead (using the above example, only "FG" would appear).
No, Match Play tournaments are not available at this time.
No, simultaneous PGA tournaments are not available at this time.
No, we don't allow editing posts because it compromises the integrity of the boards, which are meant to keep track
of what people say/claim. With the ability to edit posts, many people abuse it and post irresponsibly, and can
pretty much post anything knowing they can change it later. Most serious companies do not allow this kind of
functionality for these reasons.
Our primary data provider (Stats Inc.) is responsible for setting and adding position eligibility. They regularly
review this, based not only on time played at the position, but on news from various sources. We do also have the
ability to add position eligiblity ourselves (which would be a system-wide change), but will only do so when we
feel a player has played at his new position with sufficient regularity (1 or 2 games is generally not enough unless
it's for an NFL/NCAAF league), otherwise too many players would be eligible at too many positions. Should you ask of us
that we add a position to a player's eligibility, you must provide a strong case including links to reliable sources
that back it up, and we will then make the determination.
* Position eligibility is never removed from players during the season.
** The Commissioner of your league can override any player's eligible positions at any time in your league via
Commissioner --> All Options --> Player Position Eligibility.
A player's primary/default position is an editorial decision from our primary data provider (Stats Inc.). The
depth chart position is updated often, and should reflect which position that player is playing at that time,
but not necessarily what his primary position is.
Go to Commissioner --> All Options --> Player Position Eligibility. You'll then be able to search for any player in your league's \
player pool and select which position(s) you want him to be eligible at from a list of positions that your league uses.
Yes, by following these steps:
1) Go to Commissioner --> League Setup --> Salaries.
2) If your league does not use salaries, check the Use Salaries box.
3) Under the Salary Import section, click the Get Blank Player Spreadsheet (CSV) button with the
"Default" option selected.
4) Click the Browse button below and select the .CSV file you just downloaded.
5) Check the Lock Positions box and click the Upload Completed Spreadsheet (CSV) button.
For NCAA Commissioner leagues (Basketball or Football), unlike all of our other sports, players are added to our database
only when they are officially on their NCAA team's Active roster. If that is the case and that player does not yet exist in
our database, then please send us the link to the team's official page showing this and we will ensure that he is added
shortly thereafter.
We are not directly responsible for which ads appear on the site, however it is against our policy to have intrusive ads
on the site, so if you let us know exactly which ad you're referring to, preferably with a screenshot, we will
contact the appropriate ad agency in order to have it removed.
To view the probable starting pitcher against a particular player's team, hover your mouse over the link (i.e. the
team name) in the Opp column in the Players or Team Roster screen.
If the season is cancelled, everyone who contributed to the premium league fee will have that full amount credited
to their Fantrax account, which can be used toward any current or future Fantrax product, including any premium
league fees (such as the one for the following season), Salary Cap contests, Classic Draft leagues, or our soon-to-be-released
Daily/Weekly Money Games.
The Keeper Admin link will not be appear (under the Team menu) if any of these conditions are met:
1) Your draft (Live Online, Automated or Offline) has already begun or has been completed.
2) The Keeper League option is not enabled (set by the Commissioner in League Setup --> Misc --> Keeper League).
3) The Keeper Selection Deadline (set by the Commissioner in League Setup --> Misc --> Keeper League) has passed.
4) The Commissioner already manually executed the Keeper Rollover function via Commissioner --> All Options --> Execute Keeper
Rollover. You can view when this was done by going to Other --> System Log and clicking on the "Actions" tab.
Yes, go to Other --> System Log. The "Rule Changes" tab shows all changes to league settings, and the "Actions"
tab shows all other functions that were executed by the Commissioner or the system, such as changing the position
eligibility of a player (by the Commissioner), or when all players were waived (by the Commissioner or automatically by
the system). To view all transactions executed by the Commissioner (or any team owner), retroactive or otherwise, go to
the Transaction History screen.
Yes, every league you've ever been a member of is kept and can be accessed by clicking on the MY LEAGUES link near
the top left of the screen under the Fantrax, or you can hover your mouse over MY
LEAGUES and click on the League History link. Every aspect of your leagues is kept (Rosters, Transactions,
Standings, etc.).
That option can be found in the My Fantrax screen.
There could be several things you can try:
1) Check your junk/spam folder for any of those league-related e-mails.
2) Ensure that the "Receive Emails" box is checked in the
My Fantrax screen.
3) Ensure that the appropriate Email Preference boxes are checked in the
My Team Preferences screen.
If none of the above options help, then feel free to contact us via our
feedback form, and please provide an example of a recent transaction that you did not receive
an e-mail for. Certain e-mail providers, occasionally, such as Hotmail, may prevent e-mails from getting through to the
recipients, even though they have been sent out (by us). We will check if that is the case, and if so, you will need
to contact them directly to resolve this.
Golfers that are participating in the upcoming PGA tournament will be highlighted in green in the Team Roster
and Players screens. This should be updated on Tuesday every week.
Drivers that are participating in the upcoming NASCAR race will be highlighted in green in the Team Roster
and Players screens. This should be updated on Tuesday every week.
Yes, the Commissioner of your league can set that up by first the "Members can own more than one fantasy team"
option in Commissioner --> League Setup --> General.
Yes, any message you sent within the last 12 hours can be deleted by hover your mouse over the message and clicking
your mouse button.
