Randy Moss WR - (N/A):
May 23, 7:30AM: Randy Moss would...
CSN Bay Area says free agent WR Randy Moss "would listen" if the 49ers called. It's unclear if the Niners even want him back as they try to replace Michael Crabtree (Achilles'). Moss didn't throw a tantrum last season, but he couldn't have been happy about his part-time role and meager 28/434/3 line in 16 games. Now 36, the Niners should be reaching higher.

Vernon Davis TE - SF:
May 23, 7:22AM: Vernon Davis to...
CSN Bay Area considers Vernon Davis the "strongest candidate" to pick up the slack in the 49ers' passing game. Over the final nine games of last season (including playoffs), Davis saw just 31 targets. Michael Crabtree, the apple of Colin Kaepernick's eye, saw 89 passes come his way during that span. Now that Crabtree (Achilles') is out until at least Week 12 -- and possibly longer -- the Niners could build a tight end heavy passing scheme centered around the freakishly talented Davis. They used a second-round pick on Rice TE Vance McDonald last month.

Mario Manningham WR - SF:
May 23, 7:15AM: Manningham thinks...
Mario Manningham (knee) believes he'll be ready for Week 1. It's an optimistic assertion. Manningham tore his ACL and PCL during Week 16 last season, a devastating injury that most players need nine months to recover from. He won't be ready for the start of training camp and will be in a race to avoid the PUP list. The Niners can't count on Manningham while making plans to replace Michael Crabtree (Achilles').

Michael Crabtree WR - SF:
May 23, 7:06AM: Harbaugh...
Coach Jim Harbaugh insists that Michael Crabtree's Achilles' tendon tear is not a season-ending injury. The Niners aren't giving any kind of firm timetable, but the rehabilitation process typically takes at least six months. If Crabtree is back in exactly six months, he'd return for a Monday night game against the Redskins in Week 12. However, he'll almost certainly be eased back in slowly as the Niners keep their eye on having him make an impact in the playoffs. Owners in standard re-draft formats can cross Crabtree off their draft boards.

Aaron Curry LB - NYG:
May 22, 10:20PM: Aaron Curry:...
Giants LB Aaron Curry -- the former No. 4 overall pick of the Seahawks -- admitted the money he earned as a high draft pick changed him and caused him to lose his motivation. "I was just selfish and self-centered," he said. "I was more about me than I was the Seahawks at the time. I was more focused on my own desires versus the franchise and the team. It was immaturity, and I'm glad I got past that stage." Curry inked a six-year, $60 million deal with $34 million guaranteed in 2009. He lasted just two and a half seasons in Seattle, and he surely isn't the first or last rookie that felt invincible after a fat paycheck. Fortunately for NFL teams, the new rookie wage scale makes it a bit easier to compete and get rid of a first-round bust. Curry, 27, is now playing for the veteran's minimum in New York.

Jared Allen DE - MIN:
May 22, 9:44PM: Vikings never...
Vikings RE Jared Allen says the team never asked him to restructure his contract. "You use the word restructure and that to me makes it feel like they'd want me to take a pay cut," Allen said. "And if anybody asked me to take a pay cut, I'd be through the first door out of there. So no. We haven't talked one iota." Allen is entering the final year of his contract in his age-31 season and is set to make over $14 million. The two sides also haven't discussed an extension.

Hakeem Nicks WR - NYG:
May 22, 9:12PM: Report: Hakeem...
Yahoo! Sports' Jason Cole reports Hakeem Nicks is unhappy with his contract, which is why he didn't show up to OTAs on Wednesday. The Giants now have a double dose of financially unhappy receivers in Nicks and restricted free agent Victor Cruz. Coach Tom Coughlin was noticeably irritated that Nicks was a no-show for "voluntary" OTAs, saying that the receiver "should be here." With Cruz seeking $8-10 million annually on a long-term deal, Cole expects Nicks to seek "closer to the range" of $10 million per year and possibly more. Nicks is expected to show up to the facility sometime this week, and we really wouldn't expect a long-term contract worked out before training camp.
